The two Violin Sonatas

Violin Sonata No. 1 (2023) opens with a slow introduction, establishing an atmosphere of anticipation before moving into an Allegro deciso in sonata form. The exposition is written out in full and repeated twice, emphasizing the architectural clarity and momentum of the movement.

The second movement follows an ABA design, with an Andante–Allegretto–Andante structure that creates a contrasting, more intimate character.

The final movement, marked Presto, brings renewed energy and momentum. In a striking gesture, the opening slow introduction from the first movement unexpectedly returns before the music closes with a powerful transition back into the Presto, creating a dramatic and effective conclusion to the sonata.

Violin Sonata No. 2 (2025) begins with an Allegro moderato in sonata form. As in the First Sonata, the exposition is fully written out and repeated twice.

The development section gives particular attention to the second theme, exploring and transforming its musical material. In the recapitulation, the second theme returns in a significantly more condensed form, ultimately taking on the function of a coda and bringing the movement toward its conclusion.

The second movement, marked Andante siciliano, introduces an especially evocative Mediterranean character, while the final Vivace brings the sonata to a lively and energetic close.
